BROOKE KLOWER

About Brooke

Brooke Klower is the owner and a naturopathic practitioner at Balanced Beings. Brooke started Balanced Beings when a large gap was seen among the lack of natural treatments and practitioners treating pediatrics and mothers. Brooke Klower is a naturopath but first and foremost a mother. Through her own health journey and her children's she realised more holistic options need to be available to mothers.

What Brooke treats

Brooke has special interests in an array of paediatric conditions from autism spectrum disorder, histamine intolerance, pyrrole's disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder to food intolerances, eczema, colic, reflux, diarrhoea, nutritional deficiency's, constipation, vaccination support, sleep issues and eating support.

Brooke Klower also understands that the health of children starts from breastfeeding, postpartum, preconception and pregnancy and therefore she loves focusing on this area. Brooke also commonly sees sexual health and women's conditions such as thrush, urinary tract infections, bacterial vaginosis, erectile dysfunction, herpes simplex, HPV, infertility, libido, hormonal irregularities, amenorrhea, endometriosis, PCOS, acne vulgaris, skin conditions, gastrointestinal issues, anxiety and depression.

Brooke uses naturopath tools such as client education, nutrition and nutritional supplementation, herbal medicine, lifestyle modifications, hydrotherapy and flower essences within treatments.

favourite herb: Turmeric - it’s amazing for gastrointestinal and liver detoxification, reduces inflammation which makes it helpful in most conditions such as depression, PCOS and even ulcerative colitis.

favourite nutrient: zinc - the most important nutrient for reproduction for females and males, required for gastrointestinal health, a common deficiency in children and beneficial for most conditions!

favourite food: oats - great prebiotic, high in fibre, assists with bowel clearance and also reduces cholesterol and blood pressure levels. Also high in magnesium!

LAURA DUFFY

About Laura
Laura is a Bachelor qualified Naturopath who started her journey to Naturopathy after her own health issues pushed her to explore the role of nutrition in health and disease. She stumbled across Naturopathy and resonated deeply with its philosophies and herbal medicine, finding her true calling as a Naturopath. For Laura, there is no greater honour than supporting individuals on their journey to becoming their most vital self.

What Laura treats
Currently studying an associate degree in dermal therapy, Laura loves to treat skin conditions with a holistic approach, including acne, psoriasis, eczema and dermatitis. Other areas of interest include women’s health, digestive issues and nervous system support such as anxiety. Laura also treats paediatrics and sexual health and works collaboratively with Brooke.

Laura places a strong emphasis on client education and empowering her clients to make healthy dietary and lifestyle changes, as this is where she believes true, optimal health is achieved.

favourite herb:  chamomile, my forever favourite. One to soothe the nervous and the digestive systems – two of my favourite areas to treat. Children are also highly receptive to treatment with chamomile.

favourite nutrient: magnesium. Again, another great one for the nervous system, as magnesium will often become depleted in individuals under chronic stress and is commonly deficient in those with anxiety and adrenal fatigue. Magnesium can also be used to relieve muscle cramps and tension headaches. It is a fantastic nutrient that is also beneficial in treating PMS and painful periods. The list goes on!

favourite food: Dark Chocolate. A soul food that also has shown some therapeutic benefits. Good quality dark chocolate is rich in flavonoids which are antioxidants. Studies have shown moderate consumption can help lower blood pressure and improve cardiovascular health. It is also a source of my favourite nutrient Magnesium!
