ABOUT SUNNI

Sunni is a masters-qualified Naturopath and Clinical Nutritionist who has worked across a myriad of various specialties within the Naturopathic and Nutrition professions-with her approach to her patients being strongly evidence-based and results-driven. In her 15 years of clinical practice Sunni has developed an individualised, systematic approach to Naturopathic Medicine that leads her patients to achieve the results they desire.

As part of her Masters degree, Sunni elected a special focus: Behavioural Neuroscience and Social Psychology, and therefore her areas of speciality are inclined towards Mental Health; Fatigue disorders such as adult ADHD, anxiety, depression, sleep disorders, Autism PTSD, bipolar and more. The complexities of utilising herbal medicine and nutritional supplements standalone and in conjunction with psychiatric medications is an area Sunni excels in.

While Sunni has treated males and females of all ages in her many years of practice, since becoming a mother herself 4 years ago, Sunni developed the aspiration to change the narrative of women suffering burnout, overstimulation and carrying the mental load of their families. The emotional, mental and physical health of modern day women and their ability to not only cope but to thrive is something Sunni is very passionate about.Sunni has a strong interest in the human microbiome and by extension complex gastrointestinal disorders, which led her to becoming an Australian delegate at The International Scientific Conference of Probiotics and Prebiotics held in Budapest, Hungary.

Sunni has also developed many herbal and nutritional products used by naturopaths across Australia and New Zealand. She has travelled across Australia as a seminar presenter and has extensive experience in training qualified practitioners in the clinical management of their patients. Her dedication to providingquality education, has led Sunni to university lecturing both at Endeavour College and Torrens University for the past 10 years. Sunni’s passion to ‘connect-the-dots’ and educate in her field also sees her being a mentor-to both established practitioners and new graduates alike. Sunni is also a certified Pilates Instructor and enjoys practising Mind-Body Medicine.

WHAT IS SUNNI'S FAVOURITE HERB AND WHY?

Saffron- Also known as red gold-she truly is the queen of the nervous system-proven as effective as

many prescription antidepressants targeting the serotonin pathway and beyond! It is also a key agent in neuro-inflammation and has been clinically trialled for depression, anxiety, PMDD, learning deficits as well as age related cognitive decline. Traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine as an addition to a bedtime beverage with other warming spices.

WHAT IS SUNNI'S FAVOURITE NUTRIENT AND WHY?

NAC- There is nothing this nutrient doesn’t target. The performance and clinical evidence backing NAC as a therapeutic agent is unmatched. From female reproductive health, GIT issues, addictions, liver health, ADHD/ADD, to mental health-it sneaks its way into nearly every one of my compounded formulas.

WHAT IS SUNNI'S FAVOURITE FOOD AND WHY?

Kimchi- a big fan of Korean food overall and this spicy salted fermented vegetable side dish goes with basically everything. Cabbage is one of the only substances on earth that contain ‘vitamin U’- a potent gut healer and the fermentation process provides a source of probiotics. My recipe also includes high mineral salt, cayenne, garlic & ginger to perform as a warming digestive aide and anti-inflammatory food.
